Why FOSS signers?
A different approach to securing your Bitcoin — with more visibility into the software, hardware and how your keys are handled.
01 · INSPECT IT
The software is open for inspection. You don’t have to rely entirely on a manufacturer’s claims about how the device works.
02 · BUILD IT
Projects such as SeedSigner are built around accessible hardware. You can assemble your own, or use a ready-built device while still benefiting from an open design.
03 · CHOOSE IT
FOSS signers can offer different approaches to key storage — including devices such as SeedSigner that can operate without permanently storing your seed.
04 · USE IT
These projects can work with established Bitcoin wallet software rather than tying the signer to a single proprietary application.

Available from Bitasha
A DIY Bitcoin signing device built around the Raspberry Pi Zero. A Pi Zero, display, camera and open-source SeedSigner software come together to create an air-gapped signer that operates without permanently storing your seed.
The basic workflow
SeedSigner can create or load seed phrases, set up a BIP-39 Bitcoin wallet, review transactions and sign them — air-gapped and offline.
01 · Seed / entropy
Generate a new seed with dice or camera entropy, or load an existing seed phrase or SeedQR.
02 · Wallet setup
Export your wallet information to compatible Bitcoin wallet software for single-sig or multisig use.
03 · Review & sign
Scan the transaction, verify the details on SeedSigner’s screen and approve the signature.
04 · Return & broadcast
Scan the signed transaction back into your wallet software and broadcast it to the Bitcoin network.
